Hello Forum,
Yes I’m a noob when it comes to R/S, Car Security. However, I’m an ASE Master Mechanic and for the last 5 years I was a heavy equipment field mechanic for a big construction company. Anyways, my mom knew I was starting research on R/S and Automotive Security for my truck. So she got me for Christmas this Easyguard EC002 (with Hyundai style keys) lol. So to be a good son I am want to at least finish it and show her how great it is before I tear it out and put my Compustar CSX8900-AS 2-Way CSX Remote Start + Security W/LTE Blade Ready W/Drone X1-LTE, and a few other add-one. Anyways I am trying to hook up the 528t pulse timer to give a SPDT signal to engage a relay that sends enough power to starter solenoid. The output signal needs to be delayed about 5-8 Mississippi. Also output signal is positive. It’s basically the R/S output of 12v and cca. Am I using the wrong device for delaying the signal? The module doesn’t have a built-in/programmable delay. Please and thank you for any advise.

P.S the truck doesn’t have gray key(ie No Immobilizer. Also I have gotten the remote start and push button start functioning.

A few things to clarify and point out...

I'm guessing that CTD stand for Cummings Turbo Diesel and you are trying to add a Diesel Wait-to-Start time to allow the intake heater grid to warm up.
It's too bad that the Easyguard EC002 unit does not support diesel engines and provide a WTS delay. Three things concern me at this point.
The Install guide mentions a maximum 5 second time of pressing the START button before time out. Not sure if that is the same with a FOB button initiated R/S.
The second issue is that the 528T system's internal relay is only rated for 15 Amps. I'm not sure of the current draw on the Starter wire you will be interrupting.
Of course you could use the 528T to control a 30/40 Amp relay to get around the current draw issue but the Easyguard EC002 5 second crank time might still be an issue.
Kicking off the 528T is also an issue. The Easyguard EC002 install guide is poorly translated but Note 8 on Page 31 suggests that there might be a (-) GWR output that could be used if that connector is White.

You do get a bunch of Kudo's for getting the system working this far.
If everything else is working OK, it might be best to just give your Mom a short demo, thank her profusely and then move on to the Compustar system.

As a former 12Volt member from England used to say, "If the R/S system uses the Oil Pressure switch or the Fuel Pump as a Tach signal, bin it."

As per the previous statement by kreg357 thanks for the kudos but I think it was mostly luck and reading for about a month on this site before opening my mouth. Second I know if I hold the key down I can get longer starts ie crank times. But it doesn’t ever grind or not kick off. I don’t know maybe it’s not as doodiety as I thought. Jk. I have the 528t already and I had thought I figured it Out by run it as such:

528t side:: /Truck side
Red: +12VDC
Brown: connect to red with +12VDC
Orange:NOT USED
Black:GROUND
Black w/WHT:positive trigger
Yellow: output to 40amp relay
Blue loop:cut

Does that look correct or not even close?

Hi Chant,

The Easyguard EC002 does not make it easy to incorporate a WTS delay. I do not see any Activation Input on the unit. I find it hard to believe that a R/S button press will sustain a Starter Output for almost 10 seconds ( 8 seconds grid warm up and 2 seconds crank ).   Using the dash mounted PTS button might work but you would be holding it for 10 seconds?

There might be a way to accomplish the WTS with a two part remote start sequence from the FOB. You could use the Easyguard EC002 Trunk release output to start the 528T. It would control a relay ( or 2 ) to bring up the Ignition wire(s) needed to power the intake heater grid for say 8 seconds and turn off. At that point you would have to presss the Easyguard EC002 remote start button to crank and start the engine.

On your 528T wiring, where would the positive trigger on the Black/White wire come from?

Yes, the Yellow 528T output controls the external 40 Amp relay. What is the external 40 Amp relay wiring? What's connected to the 528T Black/White wire?

I'm still confused as to exactly what you are doing. I thought it was to delay the Easyguard EC002 Starter signal from getting to the truck for a fixed period of time to allow the intake grid heater to warm up.
This assumes that the Easyguard EC002 can output a 10 second continuous Starter signal that gets interrupted for the first 7 seconds.
