Viper 5305V, DB3, 2004 Chevrolet Silverado

I have a 2004 Chevy Silverado with Viper 5305V and Db3. I know the second ignition wire being connected is vital. Truck white to RS pink and white. I did this and everything worked as was designed to. The next morning I went to finish up and put the truck back together. I tried all the features before and I got the check engine light. I put my scanner on the OBD 2 port and got three transmission codes. I checked my pink and white wire and can not get a signal during remote start checked all fuses and everything was good. I would just return it but to much hassle to remove. So I either need to know if a setting got changed are if there is internal issues. I temporarily tied it in to my Acc brown relay to power the second ignition this is acceptable I’ll leave it this way.

Did you connect the Viper 5305V thick Red/White fused wire to +12V constant? This +12V input wire supplies power to the Pink/White output wire.

Verify that the 5305 programming for the Pink/White Flex output is still at the Factory Default of IGN2.

You could use an extremal 30/40 Amp SPDT relay controlled by the 5303's thin Pink (-) 200mA Ignition output to supple the vehicles White IGN2 wire.

I did connect the red/white to constant. I will double check this connection when I get home. Is there a way I can check the programming output of this wire with out the Viper bit writer? I took a gamble and bought online with my DB3 already programmed. I am assuming that I might be able to program the alarm outputs myself just not the DB3? Thanks!

The DB3 shouldn't affect the operation of the 5305 thick Pink/White IGN2 wire. You should be able to program the 5305 with the remotes.

Make sure the Red/White wire has +12V right at the connector of the 5305 after the fuse. I've seen some problems with the fuse holder, etc.

If you are powering the Brown ACC2 wire with an external relay, you could control that relay with the thin Pink (-) IGN wire instead of the current thin Orange (-) ACC wire.
If you needed the Brown ACC2 powered during R/S, you could get another relay later.

Thanks for the help! I will check the red white next at the R/S plug end. I need to power the bromn ACC/ wire for A/C if I am not mistaken. Using relay and then orange (-) ACC wire now. I just want to figure out why I am getting no power from R/S to pink/white to truck side for the 2 ING. I guess I need to figure out if RED/WHT is my issue not suppling power to onboard relays?

Yes, unless the 5305 has an actual problem preventing it from providing that output.

Thanks Kreg357! I just over thunk it lol! I started looking close at a relay diagram on the Viper 5305v built into the R/S feature. I found some were on the internet and realized my dumb Ass didn’t hook the Red/White to constant power to energize the pink/white wire for my 2 (Ignition. Lesson learned don’t buy a Viper on the internet before you make sure all the information is available for it. I will post up my findings on the relay out put and input settings when I get back to my computer at work with a scanner. 👍🏻

Viper is just one of the companies that does not provide support to DIY'ers. The brief 2 page guide supplied with their products is OK for trained professional installers but lacks a lot of info for the novice installer. This site has most of the "full" install guides in the Downloads section and many experienced installers to answer specific questions. As a note, some of the older system install guides provide more in-depth detail on system operation, wire function and programming features/options than the newer guides. Glad you got it going before any transmission problems developed. :^:
