I will be installing is a Clifford Matrix RS2, Remote Start. Having a problem with the wait to start signal on a 2002 diesel. They say you can not do it because on 2002  the signal does not reach the light through a descrete wire. Instead, there is a serial data bus from the system controller to the warning light module that controls all of the lights, and the familiar BLACK/ pink wire does not exist.

Can any ony help

Techsoft says to get a pulse timer relay, and they list a document number on how to wire it up---I don't have access to that document though.

Essentially, you'd rig it up so that when the remote start first comes on, the timer relay sends a ground signal the the remote start's wait-to-start input, for a fixed amount of time, say, ten seconds.  After that ground goes away, the truck will start.

I still wonder if you could just pull out the cluster where that wait-to-start light is, and tap right into the bulb socket, and see if it's an ordinary 12-volt ground at that point.

Hey muscle cars,

First of all I'm only gonna share this with you cause you own one of the coolest muscle cars of the 70's!  I had a 71, 350 Rocket, 750 CFM, Hurst dual-Gate shifter, very expensive on tires but great memories!  But hey that's another forum.  You can't interface to the glow plug light in the dash so yes you do have to create a delay.  If it's an XLT Lariat then here's what I do.  While the key is on IGN, check to see if the radio comes on approximately when the glow plug light goes out.  If so then go to the back of the radio,  find a pink ignition wire and connect it to a relay to pin 86 and tie the pin 85 and pin 30 to ground. The wait to start wire of your remote starter goes to pin 87a.  And voila! You've just created a delay!  posted_image

If your install goes wrong...it's guaranteed to be family!

Thanks Outstanding hook up. Yes Oldsmobile was the leader of muscle cars of the 70's.

I have the original engine with 325000 miles. Lots of money in rebuilding and tires. I just order the Good Year Raised Gold Letter: "GOOD YEAR EAGLE# 1 NASCAR" I am placing 60's in the front and 50's in the rear. I had to contact a friend in the Nascar circuit to get Goodyear to make the 50's, so I'm buying 4 of each.
