I installed a Viper ds4+ on an old car. I cant figure out why the engine will not crank. The system was flashed for analog security and remote start. The security part is working great but when you try to remote start it, it won't crank. It gives me a code of low or no rpm. I did the setup for a hardwire tach and the LED lit solid blue indicating successful tach input. What color wire is actually the cranking wire? I can't figure that out with my test light, none of the large gauge wires show power at cranking. Or maybe something in the flash is not right

Pin 7 (purple) on the 10 pin remote start harness is your starter output:

Thanks! That's what I thought it was and how I have it wired. So now I'll try and figure out why its not giving any power to it:errr:

did you connect the red, red/black wires to +12v? the red and black wires supplies current to the purple wire. Also try turning tach off and if that work, then try doing virtual tach

I wish I could turn the tach off. The store that sold my the unit and flashed it before it was installed. Now they will not reflash is to make a couple changes since they are not the ones that installed it, I did. So I kinda got screwed on that deal. I will double check my wires but I'm sure those wires are wired correctly. Thanks for your help!

Ok I did a couple of changes and I am able to get it to crank over but not run do to the ignition out put wire (pink). Do the red and the red/black both go to a constant 12v+? If so my my remotes won't work and also the pink wire has power on it all the time which puts power on the ignition circuit(coil). Then you turn the key to the ignition and it just cranks and never stops. So I just want to make sure the red and red/black do go to constant power

Yes.

I had considered trying a DS4 myself, but after reading that, maybe not.
