I have a 2002 Trailblazer that had the battery removed for 3 weeks. When the new battery was installed the keyless entry from the viper doesn't work. It has in it a Viper 160XV with a 500M. It also has a 455g and a 555L modules. I wasn't sure if there was something that lost programming but the lights flash when I hit the lock and unlock and the remote start works.

I didn't put it in but am good with a multi-meter and working on stuff as I installed stereo systems for years, just never a remote start/keyless entry system :-)

Any thoughts on where to start?

It sounds like the R/S gets the lock signal and flashes the Parking Lights but the vehicle never gets the actual command. That is handled by the 455G module. The 555L handles the R/S Passlock2 bypass.

I would double check all the fuses and connections on the varios R/S modules first. Make sure the 455L has power and ground at the Red and Black wires.

Next you could try reprogramming it. This process depends on the vehicle and if it has factory remote keyless entry ( Factory remotes ). I couldn't find a 455G Install Guide but here is the process from the 456G guide. Might be the same.

For non-keyless entry vehicles:
1. Connect the power, ground, and data wires before inserting the harness into the module.
2. Ground the GREEN/BLACK wire then insert the harness into the 456 module.
3. The door locks will cycle once for confirmation.
4. Connect the GREEN/BLACK lock input wire to the lock output of the security system, and then complete all connections.

For keyless entry
5. Connect the power, ground, and data wires before inserting the harness into the module.
6. Ground the BLUE remote start input wire, then insert the harness into the module.
7. Door locks will cycle twice for confirmation.
8. Connect the BLUE remote start input wire to remote start output of the security system.

Here is a link to the 456G guide so you can check if the harness, wires, locations and colors are the same.

Thank you so much!˙˙˙That worked, I knew it had to be something simple just couldn’t figure it out and the manual for the 455g that I have doesn’t mention programming.
