Car: 2012 Prius hybrid (smart key)
Immobilizer: DB3
Remote start: 4806v (refurbished)
Harness: THTL2

Issue: I've installed via the diagram above, except I used the THTL2 harness for the canbus wires. The DB3 is functioning fine since I am able to do the 3x Lock remote start with the factory remote. I'm not getting anything from the 4806v. No response, no blue LED from the antenna. I've tested with a voltmeter directly to the "brain" and it's seeing 12v. Am I missing something or is this a defective "brain" or antenna?

where did you ground the brain too? also did you program the remotes? did you set the 4806 to automatic mode? did you learn tach?

Hi, silvercivicsir. I grounded the brain to a bolt under the dash to the large metal bracket. When testing with the voltmeter, the unit is seeing approximately 12.3v probing on the brain's harness leads.

That's the problem, I try programming the remotes tapping on the antenna's button once and pressing again and holding for 5secs but no LED response/flash. I even grounded the (-) door trigger wire during the attempt.

Lock/ Unlock is unresponsive.

From my understanding, I just need Power/Ground from the 4806v at minimum in addition to the DB3 to get the unit to Lock/Unlock correct? Since that is done via D2D?

Did you hook up and of the THICK wires on the 4806? You need to hook up the Red (12V) and Pink (ign). My guess is the module isn't seeing the ignition, when you turn the car on to program the remote.

2) make sure the thin blk/white wire is grounded, and also you have to set it to Automatic mode.

1) I initially installed it to the THIN pink wire, then realized it and corrected it. This was before making this post. I also connected the RED and RED/WHITE THICK wires to 12v to be sure. Nothing. After reading your post I went back to the garage and gave the THICK PINK and RED/WHITE wires direct 12v and tried to get the alarm in pairing mode but no response still.

2) Yes, BLACK/WHITE has been grounded from day 1. I learned that the hard way a few years back.

3) Interestingly enough, I have a similar alarm on my Jeep (viper 5806v). I swapped the antenna from this over to the jeep. Nothing. Swapped the jeep's antenna to the prius. Nothing either. So this tells me the Antenna and the Brain are both dead on the 4806V?

You could have a bad antenna cable. Unplug both ends and test pin to pin for continuity.

Too late to test for that. The seller accepted the product back for an exchange. I've sent it out just now. I'll keep this thread updated when the replacement arrives.

UPDATE: for those following along and those that run into this issue in the future.

New unit arrived but I could not program remote. What was happening was that the remote starter unit was not picking up the ignition signal from the DB3 wires. I just gave it 12v via the remote starters ignition (+) wire. Programmed both remote.

Then I ran into the issue of it actually remote starting but wont stay on. but 3x factory remote start will stay on. So I had to go into settings again and changing ignition signal over to (12v), which is the second option on the menu.

Hopefully this helps someone with the same issues down the line.
