Sup,

I recently got a 2003 Hyundai Accent 2dr Hatch. It's automatic with the "Comfort Package" which includes basically power everything, AC, blah blah blah...

I've decided that I miss keyless entry and I am thinking an alarm would be a nice addition as well (if for insurance purposes at least...). Not looking to spend a tonne and basically it's looking like the Avital 2200 is the best bang for the buck.

Questions:

1. My car has this factory fake LED that blinks every sec. after the car is off mimicing an alarm. Can the guys at Best Buy (I guess I'm getting it from there) hook it up so that the LED now reflects the actual alarm? Or will they have to put in the second one too?

2. Will there be any problems setting up keyless entry in a car that doesn't offer it? It has power doors, is that all that really matters?

3. The car is leased. Will adding this system void any of the warenty/lease agreement? I'm guessing not since if anything it would be an upgrade. I will likely just be buying the car out at the end, but I still don't want any probs with the dealer before that time...

I just hope Best Buy does car alarms here in Canada similarly to the States.

Thanks for the help.

1. depends on what the voltage is on the factory LED. most likely they will have to add a second LED. thats what i would do.

2.there shouldnt be any problems. the only thing they might encounter is if that car doesnt have locking rods. some cars use cables these days. most of them can still be done. Velocity Motors can e-mail you some info. just drop him a line.

3.you would have to check with the lease company. i do work on them all the time for people and there is never any problems.

here is the info that i have on that car....
