I have a 2000 excursion V10 that I installed a CM7000 alarm/remote start on. The alarm functions are working great. However, when I attempt to remote start the vehicle it cranks but does not start. I am currently out of ideas of what to check so I thought I would ask the members here.

The unit is using an AL blade to bypass the PATS system. It appears to have programmed correctly as the light flashed/blinked correctly through each step. When the vehicle attempts to start the blue light flashes which appears to be correct according to the blade manual.

When the vehicle fails to start the 3rd time I get an error code 08 which is referencing the tach signal. However, I have tapped into that signal at the back of the instrument cluster via the white/pnk wire. I performed the below steps for tach learning and they completed successfully as well. I receive 1 parking light flash when completed.

- Start the engine with your factory key
- With the engine running, place your foot on the brake pedal and hold it down
- While holding the brake pedal down, press & hold the remote start button on your Compustar remote for 3 seconds
    - You should receive 1 parking light flash
    - If you receive 2 or more parking light flashes, then you may need to bring the vehicle to an authorized Compustar installer for assistance.

Any ideas of what else to check when this happens?

Thanks in advance.

When it is cranking, is the PATS LED in the cluster still flashing?

The THEFT light does continue to blink even during the remote start process.

When using the key the THEFT light stops blinking and all the other dash lights, light up before starting.

When using remote start, the THEFT light continues to blink and no other dash lights come on. The parking lights do flash once.

Your immobilizer bypass is not functioning.
Put the key in the switch in the OFF position and then try to remote start. If it starts, it verifies that the bypass is not working.

How did you wire the key sense?

Update on this issue. Issue has been resolved and the vehicle does remote start now.

On my 2000 excursion there are two red/black wires from the ignition for accessory power. I hooked into the wire that had no power during cranking so once I switched to the correct red/black wire it started without any issues.

Thanks for any help or advice.
