I'm looking to add remote start to my 2017 Audi Q5 push to start with long range (more than just a couple hundred feet). My local dealer is suggesting the Viper DS4 system and adding the their 2-way LED remote to get the long-range I need. However the Viper site builds a kit with the LED 2-way when I put in what I want. The DS4 system out of the box seems to be just Bluetooth but he said the long range remote can be added to it. He says the DS4 is the newer technology but I don't even see the DS4 listed on remote start products page
I'm just trying to verify what he's telling me and which system is going to suit me better.
Anyone with experience with the Viper DS4 vs their 2-way LED system (4806v)?

yes it will work. You will have to give up a a key (key wrap) with any RS you put in there, it will have to stay in the vehicle all the time. You take out the battery so it doesn't affect anything lock wise in the car. The ds4+ has a short range Bluetooth connection and can use the smart start app. Blue tooth is only about 60 feet so I wouldn't rely on it. Most RS fob ranges now are 1/2 mile with the 2 way one being 1 mile and the compustar pro remotes are 3 mile.

33 years as a installer now just a retired old guy. Favorite thing to install/topic are remote starts/car alarms. Stop using test lights!!!
