I have recently installed a compustar 4900S on a 2000 Toyota Tundra. I made the following connections:

All 8 connections from CN1 main harness

From CN3 harness: negative parking light out put, negative lock output, negative unlock output, negative horn output, negative hood pin input, and positive foot brake input

After finishing the install I went to use the remote and nothing happened. I have not been able to successfully get any response from unit. When I put the vehicle in programming mode by cycling the ignition the light on the antenna flashes red but when I hit the lock button nothing happens. I believe there may be some sort of transmitter issues. I have check all my connections and Everything seems to be in order. Is there something that I am missing? I didn’t use any relay or bypasses should I have? Is there a trick to wiring the unlock/lock?

Thanks

That's strange. With the CS4900-s kit, the remotes are pre-paired with the controller. All that's needed is +12V to the Red and Red/White fused input wires, chassis ground on the Black wire and the Antenna plugged in. At that point, pressing the lock button will get a relay click from the internal Parking Light relay.

Check the Antenna connections and the Chassis Ground.

The CN1 Harness should look like this :

Pin 1 Red - Constant 12V              White @ IGNITION SWITCH HARNESS
Pin 2 Green/White - Programmable Output              Not Used
Pin 3 Red/White - Constant 12V        White/Red @ IGNITION SWITCH HARNESS
Pin 4 White - Accessory 12V positive (+)             Blue/Red @ IGNITION SWITCH HARNESS
Pin 5 Blue - Programmable     set to IGN2            Black/Yellow @ IGNITION SWITCH HARNESS
Pin 6 Yellow - Starter 12V positive (+)              Green/Black or Black/White V-8 @ IGNITION SWITCH HARNESS
Pin 7 Green - Ignition 12V positive (+)              Black/Red @ IGNITION SWITCH HARNESS
Pin 8 Black - Ground negative (-) input              Chassis Ground

You don't need the (+) Parking Light output if you are using the (-) Parking Light output.

Which vehicle wires are the R/S's lock and unlock wires attached to?
Here is the info from Bulldog Security :
Lock       WHITE/GREEN    12 PIN CONNECTOR IN DRIVER KICK PANEL
Unlock    RED/YELLOW      12 PIN CONNECTOR IN DRIVER KICK PANEL

Does the truck have Child Safety Lock System?

Soldering is fun!
