Good friend of the Family had his truck broken into while he's in Iraq. I'm going to get an alarm/remote start system and install it for him. I have no issue with the install, but I'm not sure what is needed to get an Alarm/Remote setup working for his vehicle. I see that Viper,Avital, ect have Models that will do Alarm,Keyless and remote start, but what else is needed for the remote start? Your experience suggestions are appreciated.

2009 through 2016 are the same. You will need a bypass module for the transponder based G chipped key. The Fortin Key-Override-All is a good choice. You will need some 1N4001 diodes to monitor each door pin for the alarm system.

As for the actual R/S, alarm and RKE aftermarket system, any major brand is OK. Most people go by price remote range and appearance.
