iDatalink ALCA, 2011 Chevrolet Cruze

Hello. When using the datalink ALCA bypass module or any bypass module in general for remote start, what is the purpose of the ignition and accessory wires? I mean the remote start itself already has those and wiring goes straight to those respective wires on the car, so why would you need to connect another set of those same wires from the bypass module? It seems redundant. For example, im hardwiring the remote start to the bypass module WITHOUT the 2 way data connection. So the lock wires from the remote starter goes to the lock wires on the bypass and thats it for those connections. Same with other connections, but from the instructions it shows that you must connect the ignition and accessory wires of the remote start to the cars wires and then do the same with the bypass module making 2 of each wire that does the same thing spliced into one wire. the reason why im asking is because something is causing the car to attempt to try to start up without me wanting to start it when it try to turn off the electronics of the car after its been in accessory/on.

mostly programing so the module knows when to learn the key code when you put it in the ignition

33 years as a installer now just a retired old guy. Favorite thing to install/topic are remote starts/car alarms. Stop using test lights!!!

I’m installing this on a 2011 Chevy Cruze.

You need those wired together for the bypass module to communicate to the remote starter. The bypass module fools the car´s computer to make it think the key is in the ignition so the car will start properly.

Idatalink and Fortin make T-harnesses for clean plug in connections with minor direct wiring(ie. hood pin)

I have verified multiple times that all connections are connected to the corresponding connections for acc and ignition. It’s the weirdest thing. With press of the button I’m in accessory mode just like turning the key once, then the second press I am in On mode or the mode where all the lights on the dash turn on. Third press will turn on engine IF foot is on the brake at the same time. If no foot is on the brake then it will turn the car off. It does that but before it does it you can briefly here the starter try to engage for like a millisecond. If pressing the button with the foot on the brake, the car starts as intended without any problem.
