2006 Dodge Dakota key fob becomes inoperable right after the three lock presses on a Stellar 1050 remote start. Also it gets an engine code U1120 lost wheel distance whenever remote start is activated. Any ideas?

The key fob being disabled is normal. You'll find that anytime your truck is running the key fob will be inoperative. The U1120 code may indicate a required ignition/accessory wire not being powered up during remote start.

Thank you for the reply Catback. I solved the engine code problem yesterday it was an accessory wire not connected. New question to you. Would starting the truck with the unlock wire make any difference from staring it with the lock wire?

Not with regards to the key fob. It doesn't matter how you start the truck. With the key or remote start, the factory key fob becomes inoperative when the vehicle is running. The most common and universal solution to this is a separate remote for the remote start system combined with a remote start system that has it's own unlock capability - both of which aren't available with the Stellar RS1050.

Using the unlock wire would leave your truck unlocked for the entire remote start duration. The key fob would still be inoperative so you would not be able to lock it after starting it.
