I am trying to help out a friend of mine and getting him parts for a remote start and full alarm install. My distributor says I will have to use an Omega Blade interface to do the install. From my understand the blade will make the install go much easier and faster. When I got on Omegas website, a 2000 F250 is not listed. It’s been a WHILE since I did installs and I know tech has changed a lot. We used to just use a key imobilizer if needed and hard wired all the inputs. Can anyone verify that this is needed. It does have the factory keyless but not an alarm. Thanks for any info.

I don't believe that truck has a PATS immobilizer system installed.

The quick test is to wrap a working factory key with several (4+) layers of aluminum foil and try to start the engine. If you already have a plain metal hardware store key that works you can skip the test, you don't have a "chipped" key.

Without a PATS system, the need for a bypass module like the Blade is non-existent. iDatalink does not provide a module that performs any convenience features for that vehicle. As such, everything will be old school hardwired.

Having factory Remote Keyless Entry will make things a bit easier. There will be no need for a 451M Door Lock Module and the associated 5-Wire Rev wiring. Just the R/S systems (-) door locks outputs will work fine.

With a Diesel engine, your R/S must provide programming options for a Diesel Delay period. Select the time value that allows the WAIT Light to go out before the R/S cranks the engine. The TACH wire is a WHITE/PINK located at the PCM (Powertrain Control Module) or at the Main Harness that runs on the inside of the firewall to the left of the brake pedal.
