I'm about to install a remote starter and I don't understand why this main port with all the wires for the ignition is taped off. It says for vehicles with autostart button, but my vehicle obviously only has a key to start. I'm certain I have to use this port, but why why they tape it off?

That's how they're packaged.

Sometimes the tape is over the connector at the opposite end.

Your link is not working unfortunately. I understand they're packaged this way but why write incorrect information on the label?

The wording on the label in your posted pics is unreadable. What is the model number of the starter? And yes, the 6-pin connector is for wiring at the ignition switch.

Model CT-4311TW
https://www.prostartsystems.com/Products/RemoteStart/CT-4311TW.aspx

The tape says that this port is only for push button installations.

Why would they say that and add confusion? Clearly I need this port to install the remote even without push start button?

The only thing I can think of is since push-to-start vehicles don't have heavy gauge wiring. At the start button, wires are typically thinner, compared to a keyed ignition systems. So maybe the module outputs at that taped off connector can't supply the current that a keyed system requires.

Ok, so it says when wiring the remote start system in a PTS vehicle to not connect the wiring(outputs) of the starter module
directly to the PTS button. It says use an interface module. The module is usable for keyed or PTS systems.

Forgot, I have an Autostart AS-1780 unit, new in box. Has same sticker over same port. Bought unit for neighbor, never installed...for keyed vehicle.

Ahhh thank you! The problem is with my English reading rather than instructions.
It's just a warning for people installing with PTS, nothing to worry about for regular installations.
