I have a cm900-as with the blade-al. I'm needing some help figuring out the remote start part on the PTS function. I'm assuming I'll need a relay system but just don't know what wires to tap into since, from the diagrams that were posted for me prior, there is no ignition and starter wire. Any help is appreciated. First time working on a PTS system, I'm more familiar with Compustar systems.

just follow the sheet like it says, there are no extra starts or ignitions to hook up. Its all done by the bcm on the can bus wires

also don't be surprised, when you remote the car, and the engine doesn't turn on. As long as the "ready" or green car light comes on, its running. The engine only turns on when it needs to. If you crank the heater, the engine will fire up within a few seconds.

Also if you follow the diagram on idata, it's assumed you know Ground (blk) from the rs brain is a mandatory connection.

Ok. Alarm is wired in like the instructions state. I can control the alarm with the factory and non-factory remotes. My problem is that I can't get the remote start to work. I only have what the blade required wired in. Am I missing anything here?

More details, I disabled the cranking, no tach. What it does when I enable remote start is just as if I only pressed the PTS button once.

if the green car light or "ready" is on when you remote start it, it's working fine.. like i said the engine only turns on when it needs to, so try cranking the heater fan to high, and the engine should start in a few seconds.

Hey,

No it's not doing that. So you know how when you first get in the car and just hit the PTS button and part of the cluster lights up (well just a few lights). This is what its doing, the cluster lcd isn't coming on. Only like the CEL and another red icon. I think I do need to hook up that 2nd ignition wire.

sounds like something else is wrong. I've done hundreds of these and followed the manual with no problems. did you learn the tach wire, make sure you are going by pin location and not just grabbing any wire color it lists

directed doesn't provide a tach wire location. All connections were made to pin location, not by color wire. I've tested all door triggers and hatch, tested ignition as well. I followed the diagram I requested here.

this should be the manual you should be following with the blade module

Yup that's what I used, type 3. I even went to idatalink's site to flash both the blade and the alarm brain. I guess next to look at is the settings on the blade and the brain...

did you learn the tach to the remote start? start vehicle (with gas engine running) push/hold the brake then push the remote start button-acting like you are going to RS it. Light should flash 2 times saying it programed though data

Just did that after resetting both blade and brain to default. Nada. The issue is that the car isn't getting into start mode, right before ready mode.

just trying to cover the basics here-

you used a diode (with the stripe side) on the igniton wire going toward the RS
green/red rx to the yellow rx, both from the blade wire to the rx purple wire on the side of the fuse box
make sure you didnt flip/flop the can buss wires at the obd connection
blue/red on blade wire to ground

Yes, everything I'm doing is per installation guide. I just double checked with directs DBALL instructions and it's the same. I might try to flash the blade to the previous version

did the blade program correctly? do the locks function from the remote starter fob? when you are trying to start it, are all the doors closed?

Before programming the blade it would still lock/unlock buy would not arm/disarm the factory alarm. After programming it would arm/disarm the factory alarm. I would say yes it's programmed correctly if it's able to communicate with the factory alarm.

have you tried setting in the car with the factory key fob and RS it?

I actually did do this and it wouldn't remote start. Did the same thing. I'm about to go out and try to downgrade the firmware.
