Hello,

The other week my auxiliary lights were stolen off my truck. No, I didn't have security fasteners, but will for the new set. My question is "Is there a way to wire in a trip wire through the fixture so when cut it activates the alarm?" I have the hood switch, but I don't know if it's a closed or open switch when the hood is shut. What might be the best way to utilize that if possible? Only XLT trim.

Thanks. Julius

Your truck uses Ford's (-) Normally Closed door pin system on the Hood Pin. Here is the wire info :
Hood Pin...........BLUE/ORANGE (- N.C.).............BCM GREEN 26 PIN CONN, PIN 2

You can't just add another ground point to that circuit. You could cut that Blue/Orange wire and run it to the light bar as a loop. The return wire would connect back into the other side of the cut Hood Pin wire to complete that circuit. That way if the Hood is opened, the factory alarm still goes off and if the light bar wires are cut or disconnected the factory alarm thinks the Hood has been opened and the alarm goes off.
