As title states, my remote starter has not been working. It was installed 5 years ago, installer no longer in business. The model is a viper 4115v with DBALL2 bypass. The issue I’m having is the truck not starting after 3 attempts. I took dash apart last night. I attempted to troubleshoot viper system, everything seems to be in order. The only trouble code I get when entering that mode is the 3 flashes from led, indication low or no rpm, or low battery. I just installed a new battery, and reset the system, still not working. Do not know how to troubleshoot the DBALL2, but tried to use system with a key in ignition, and it fires right up. All wires appear connected, is there a reset I can perform on the DBALL2, or should I just assume something is disconnected somewhere? I’m handy, but don’t have a diagram to show me where the DBALL2 receives signal to bypass the key. Sorry for long post, not sure how much info I should provide.

I'm guessing tach issue, probably getting tach signal from the dball2 (fails a lot). I would run the tach violet/white pin 2 of a 5 pin harness (next to a black/white) from the 4115 to the brown wire at data link connector (obd2), white 16 pin plug, pin 9 or to a fuel injector, the wire that is not repeating.

To learn the tach signal:
1. Start the vehicle with the key.
2. Within five seconds, press and hold the Control Center button.
3. After three seconds the LED will light constant when the tach signal is learned.
4. Release the Control Center button and turn OFF the vehicle

ok so i dove in more. looks like my dball2 is not bypassing the key sense. i soft reset the dball2, get the led to go solid red. every time i insert the key, for the programming sequence, it flashes orange a few times, then stays solid orange. it never completes the sequence to show solid green. if i use the remote start, and have the key inserted, it works fine. i took the plastic off and checked every wire that was connected to the sterring column, and all wires are good to go. someone on a tundra forum posted the install manual specific for our trucks, so i was able to trace the wires and check. not sure what options i have left. thank you for the reply!

during module programing what the orange lights mean

Solid orange
Transponder functions were skipped. (If compatible) when RXT mode is not desired or convenience features are needed, please reset
the and reprogram the module

Flashes orange
1 of 2 CAN networks has been detected. Normal operation

Flashes orange slowly
Key2GO initiated. Please follow the steps indicated in “Module programming” to complete the Key2GO
programming.

Solid orange x 3secs
Module was successfully programmed
without transponder functions. Normal operation.

Module programming
Refer to “LED diagnostics and troubleshooting” for more information and for troubleshooting purposes.
THE MASTER KEY IS REQUIRED to complete the module programming successfully.
1
Wait until the LED turns ON solid red.
Note: To skip the transponder programming and use convenience features only, press
the programming button 5 times. Wait until the LED turns ON solid orange, then
proceed to the next step.
2
Insert and turn the key to the ON position. The LED turns ON solid green for 3
seconds. This may take up to 5 seconds.
If the transponder programming was skipped, the LED turns ON solid orange for 3
seconds then shuts OFF when programming is done.
Note: If the LED flashes red 4 times, an OEM remote starter is present. Disable the
OEM remote starter, reset the module and try again.
3 Turn the key to the OFF position, and remove it from the ignition barrel.

Yes, I have the print out with the instructions. What is happening, I get the solid red led, it starts orange when I soft reset, then goes red. As soon as I insert the key, it goes to solid orange. I can’t get to the ignition step before it turns orange. So it is not letting me program the key to the module. Thank you again for the response. Maybe we can figure this out!
