Hello all,

I have this old remote starter that's in an old base model 99 f150, no power door locks or anything. Just the remote start feature is used.

The starter has practically 0 range because the antenna is damaged. I was thinking I might be able to install a new antenna or even swap out the module to a newer model if I could reuse the existing harness. Anyone familiar with these units or know of a model I can swap in fairly easily?

Harnesses won’t just plug in but it would be easy enough to connect all the existing wires to a new harness on brand new unit with superior range. Don’t fight with trying to adapt a 20 year old system. Just get a brand new system with new remotes. Maybe even 2-way.

That sounds even better - I might be able to cross-reference the wiring. (edit: maybe polar starters aren't made anymore?)

I'll see if I can locate the manual for the wiring schematic of the current one in there.

Cheers!
