2017 Mitsubishi Outlander, Prostart CT3271, DBall3

hey guys and gals, i have a prostart ct3271 remote starter kit, and a DBall3 bypass module (programmed for my vehicle by directech installer), also have both units install guides.

trying to figure out which gets installed first.

havent had any luck on google/youtube . and i need more specific details about this.

the prostart manual has literally 2 sentences about a bypass, and the DBall3 manual has nothing about the remote starter.

can someone clarify for me.

im familiar with stereo installs and other wiring automotive, and currently working as a diesel mechanic.

however, ive got 0 experience with bypass modules and remote starters.

cant be rocket science. just dont want to waste time yano.

oh i almost forgot,

the car is specifically a 2017 mitsubishi outlander es trim gas and regular key to start, no push start, no smart fob. just a reguglar old key with lock/unlock/panic buttons. and keyed ignition

It's not rocket science but there is a pretty steep learning curve.

The bypass module does more than just the engine immobilizer bypass. Both units have to work together to achieve the desired results. With the newer vehicles and their computer systems it is possible to brick the vehicle with an incorrect connection.

Typically, they both get installed at the same time. I would suggest doing a bench prep routine where the two modules are connected together on the bench prior to installation. You would follow the install wiring guide in the DB3 instructions. You said you had the guide. It should be 403.MIT6 Ver 1.08 assuming it was properly flashed for your vehicle. On Page 3 it lists the supported functions and on Page 5 is the wiring. Print out the wiring harness guide for the CT-3271 and use that in conjunction with the DB3 guide as the DB3 guide is generic about the R/S system.

After the units are bench prepped, you will need to locate and verify the necessary vehicle wires. The DB3 install guide helps with wire colors, locations and connector diagrams. Please note that if the vehicle has the Factory Alarm system with a hood pin then the R/S kit supplied hood pin is not needed. Also, if the CT-3271 can handle a data Tach signal, then the hardwired Tach connection shown is not required. You will need two 6 Amp diodes for the Parking Lights. Not shown is an optional Horn connection if you wanted that.

There will be many unused wires on both modules. My suggestion is to make up a wire chart that lists all R/S harnesses and their connections to the DB3 or vehicle and post that for forum review.

Okay, I've set them up on the bench. I see now what you mean by alot of wires will not be used.

The prostart main 6pin harness has 2 red 12v (30afused) lines.... No explanation in the wiring for both of them just one is mentioned.

Both Red fused wires need to be connected to +12V constant supply. They provide the power to the ignition outputs and possibly the controller itself. Not real familiar with the ProStart units as they are mostly available in Canada.

More than likely ignition switch has 1 12 volt wire so join 2 red 12 volts from starter together after fuses
