2021 Toyota Tundra, H Key, Fortin EVO-ALL, 24 Hour Lock Down Mode

Installed a EVO-ALL on a 2021 Toyota Tundra with H key.

Programmed easily, worked as it should. 3-4 weeks pass, customer states truck will not start, by remote start or key. I visited the customer, and experienced the issue first hand. Turn key to ignition, everything powers on, turn key to crank, and nothing. Starter would not engage. Checked outputs from ignition switch, all tested good. Checked all fuses, all good. Battery voltage was 11.7-11.8, and just to eliminate a bad battery, jumped to another vehicle. No change. Removed EVO-ALL and set wiring back to factory knowing it was going to dealer.

I saw this for myself on a Friday. Customer had vehicle towed to Toyota on a Saturday. On the following Monday, truck started like normal. Tech states there have been zero issues with starting since Monday. Tech also stated that when the truck senses an attempt to start without the correct key (bad immobilizer signal) that the truck goes in to a "lock down" mode for 24 hours.

I understand the truck not starting if the immobilizer doesn't get the correct signal, but I've never seen a vehicle "lock down" for 24 hours. In my 20 years of installing, I've never experienced this, nor heard of it. Anyone want to educate me, or possibly shed some light on what could have happened?

Can't say I've ever heard of that either. Seems like it would potentially be extremely inconvenient for a customer if the car misreads the key and instantly the car wouldn't start for an entire day.

Most all cars have a security/transponder light that indicates whenever there's a problem with the security system. That's where you should look if you think a no-start issue may be the immobilizer bypass/security system. It's possible that the problem was simply a dead spot on the starter and the drive to the dealership during the tow jarred it enough to move it off the dead spot.

24 hour lock out mode? I call BS.. 1hr tamper mode sure, but to not be able to start the car with the key for 24hrs? Head are going to roll.
