My wife has a 2017 Explorer and she has been bugging me to install a wireless remote start module to work with the factory remote start that she can start from anywhere with her phone. I been looking into the VIPER SMARTSTART but I don't know if that is a stand alone module and requires another Viper product remote start to work with it, or is "all in one" kit to achieve what I want to do.

Also is it going to be plug and play if I buy wiring harnesses or is it all old school tap in style.

Any help and suggestions in what I can get for her will be appreciated.

If the vehicle is equipped, Ford Pass would be my choice.

Can't add it after the vehicle has not been equipped with it.
