I've got a 2009 Impreza with an Avital 4103lx remote starter that I installed myself many years ago. I'm interested in adding an app-controlled module to it.

I checked the manual and the unit has a red 4 pin "D2D" interface. Is it possible to connect a SmartStart through this? Or might it be possible to easily swap the 4103 with another unit like the 4105 that is compatible?

Just curious if you've gotten anywhere with this. What is the D2D interface port for? Is the SmartStart also a DEI product like Avital?

It is fairly simple. You just need to know if your system is digital or analog.

I just added one to my ds4. Its digital so just had to plug in the d2d and ground the smartstart

Yours maybe digital so you can try just the d2d and ground the grey wire on the smartstart.

If analog, you may have to do the aditional wiring and ground the white wire on the smart start

Smartstart is DEI so should work for all DEI related products i would think
