I am looking for a 12v latching relay that would latch “on” and stay on until trigger is off... THEN reset itself “off” to await the next “trigger”.

Can this be found in an existing relay or will I have to create a bank of relays?

Sounds like a typical relay if it's ON when the trigger is active and OFF when the trigger is inactive.

Once triggered by a momentary switch, it would stay latched in that position. Trigger it again and it would unlatch.

Preferably the trigger circuit would be on the ground side of the circuit.

Is there such a relay available, I know I can do this with a combination of relays but I'm tight for space that's why I'm looking for a single relay with that function.

Any help would be greatly appreciated but a manufacturer and part number would be great.

I've found a relay that will latch with a momentary input but will not unlatch with a secondary input... I have to actually reverse the trigger's polarity for it to unlatch... Instead I'm looking for a relay that would do this:

"Click the trigger once, it latches the circuit... Click the trigger a second time, it unlatches the circuit"

I know such a relay exists, I just haven't found it YET... LOL

You need to search for bistable relays. How much current is able to be supplied by the momentary input? Look into 70's VW headlight relays.

Thank you Ween... My search continued after my last post and like you I found the VW headlight relay... It sold under several manufacturer part numbers... DNI 0127, Napa AR284, VW Audi part number 411 941 583 B, and part number 111 941 583... Under $20. USD

Thanks to all who replied.
