Just posting this for the record, confirming what izombi82 reported on a similar thread for Viper 5704. Specifically if you are a genius like me and connect the black/yellow (-) Dome Light Output wire to unmitigated battery power (the + side of the dome light circuit for example) it will damage the unit such that the blue control center LED stays on permanently (regardless of valet mode) - though everything else (besides the ign-controlled dome light feature) continues to work perfectly.
The unit uses two generic 16 pin ULN2003 chips to control the aux harness (-) 200ma "outputs". Those chips use transistors to open a channel to ground thus completing a circuit (and it will just be a very brief short circuit if you connect them directly to power like I did). I believe the unit could be repaired cheaply by replacing the ULN2003 the left of the aux harness connector. Since replacement brains are only around $50, I opted for the faster more surefire solution to complete the project - so may or may not ever get around to testing that theory. Project for a rainy day, maybe.
