There are few old threads on this and are based on Directed Electronics devices MB3 or Dorbell2 which are not programmable by user since 2017.
-I need the Original Remote usage for remote start clock
optional:
-I prefer the option to have the AC turn on automatically in the extreme temperatures with remote starter
-possibility of Windshield defrost and Rear windshield defroster turning on in freezing weather.
- the possibility of adding telematics like MyCar
Trying to stay in budget and ebay is flooded with many older remote starters from MB3, x410, compustar , datalink etc it is hard to find any comparison or clear info on the older models that would do my job perfectly fine.
The cheapest option that I'm familiar with is from Directed (Directech) MB3 or 4x10:
MB3 around 40$ programmed before shipping plus T-harness THTOD2 or TLTH2 for 20$
Cons:
I will have no access to the programming myself, hard to expand on in the future.
Pro:
many documentation on this install,
cheap and easy with the T-harness
can add telematics
Questions:
1) Does the 2012 Prius v need the programmer for a second activation after the original programming by the dealer on the MB3?
2) Any way to have the AC turn on in extreme temp?
3) What is involved in installing rear window defrost,
4) Is the Front windshield defrost which uses AC an option?
Finally, my real Question is...
Can someone please recommend a cheap older model available on ebay etc that is programmable by the user and perhaps a more plug and play Harness if it does not through the price out of the window?
idatalink website recommends : ADS-THR-TL7 Harness 40$ + CMHCXA0 controller (80$) + Idatalink ADS-USB-ECO Programmer 35$
MyCar website lists all these modules that I know almost nothing about

Bought a DB3 that was programmed by the seller to use as a remote starter with
2012 Toyota Prius v (wagon) x3 lock
and activate telematics for MyCar
I am using THTOD2 Harness to install the unit.
Would be awesome if a kind fellow here with access to directed could provide the full instructions document from Directed for this.
If it can not be posted, please PM me

Thank you for sending the Diagram & the instruction,
installed, all wires are soldered in place and the remote starter works...
However, when I scan the car computer with Techstream (toyota dealer OBD2 interface) I have an active error
B126A - Remote Engine Starter ECU Communication Stop ;
The car (2012 Prius v) did not come with the original Toyota remote starter. Does Directed have any guide on why this error is showing or how to fix it? perhaps the car thinks it has a genuine remote starter ECU and can not communicate with it since its aftermarket DB3...
