I'm adding a KP2 windshield touch keypad to my older CM-DC3 Compustar brain and wanted to know if it will just plug in and work with the latest firmware or does it require some (FO) feature option adjustments using the weblink tool to recognize it?
The manual I find online says "DC3 limited operation" but, I was told that the latest DC3 firmware makes it fully compatible. I just don't know if it is enabled as soon as it is plugged in, or if it requires additional settings adjustments to work.
Thanks

If you find out, Steve, let us know. I recently moved to Compustar after being a Viper user for years.

So it does work. Had it for a few months. Now it started acting odd on Xmas eve. I went out after remote starting and it was flashing the green and red leds in an alternating pattern nonstop. No idea why or how to fix. Zero mention of it online or in the outdated install guide. Unplugging it from the cord and plugging back in didn't fix it.

Ah, yes. You've unlocked the mythical Christmas light feature.
I have the sensitivity set to high on mine and notice if the windshield is wet it doesn't work. I can wipe it dry and it's fine but it looks like yours is dry. I might try unplugging and plugging back in and maybe reprogramming.
It's frustrating there's nothing really online about these issues or how to solve them.

I left it unplugged for several days and today I plugged it back in. It immediately started the same flash cycling. I started driving and pulled out my remote and armed and disarmed a few times in a row and it stopped. It just flashed red. Then I disarmed once more and there were no lights. When I stopped, I got out and was able to hold the lock button and it worked. Then it took my code to unlock. Who knows. Odd thing is i tried arming and disarming while remote started when it first happened, but it had no effect. No idea. Yes you're right. Zero info online about what the different flashing codes mean.
