Hi, I just bought my daughter a 2009 Hyundai Elantra and it only came with one key and one 5-button hyundai branded remote (which works perfectly and has a dedicated start button). I'd like to get two more remotes, but at this point I might be better off installing a new unit.

From what I understand, despite the Hyundai logo on the remote, this was a dealer installed option. I can't find any info on what unit is in there. I have the remote's FCC ID and a "CAN" number. I pulled the lower dash panel and have the remote starter's serial number and what I thought was a model number but google hasn't turned up anything. My email to DEI has gone unanswered as well.

The model number is HY-1776, I was told it looked like an Auto/Nordic/Arctic start unit from that era. Would the serial number of the unit or the remotes FCC ID give any clues?

thanks in advance.
