i have just never did a install with a bypass unit and the old cm3000 does not have a data port so that is where I am confused and do I need all the starter and ignition wires off the big harness of the cm3000

You don't need a data port. Just wire the dashed lines in the Idatalink TB manual between the remote start and the bypass.

Yes, you will need to connect the remote start wires to the ignition harness as all the bypass does is bypass the immobilizer.
