I have a 5706V that I am thinking about paring with a VSM 550 specifically for the Smartphone Feature

I would like to know if the VSM 550 will send a notification to the phone if the alarm is triggered?

Also does the features aside from GPS tracking work if you don't pay for a GPS plan? I don't want the other features to be held for a cash ransom

Yes it will notify when triggered. All of this will require a subscribtion

To be clear are you saying that the VSM 550 will not work at all without a subscription?
