Hey all. I have a compustar cs5200 laying around the garage that i want to install into a 1994 mercedes e320 sedan. I dont really care for the remote start, i just want to hook up the keyless entry. Would this be a straight forward install under the rear seat? Do i need diodes etc? Any tips on wiring would be appreciated

I've never done one of these cars but it shouldn't be too bad just doing keyless entry. You will need a few relays for the locks. although I'm not sure about the CS5200 being able to do a 2 second pulse for the locks.

Yes, the CM5200 can do a 2.5 and even a 3.5 second lock output. I did one of these cars a while ago with a CS800 with a 3.5 second output and a Directed 451M module. Made the lock wire connection at the pump under the rear seat. Passing wires thru to the trunk was a challenge...

I don't think I took any photos of that install. I'm out of town right now so I don't have any notes/paperwork available. The customer only wanted RKE. I was able to get power and Parking Lights under the rear seat and ran the antenna up by the rear window. Here is the lock info from another source :
Power Door Lock (All)   BLUE   DRIVER KICK PANEL OR
Power Door Unlock (All)        AT SUPPLY PUMP UNDER REAR SEAT
I do remember spending a lot of time doing wire ID to get everything working right.
