Compustar CM-900 Remote Start, 2003 Dodge Ram 2500

So I have a 2003 Dodge ram 2500 with factory heated seats. I am getting ready to install a compustar two way remote start with the drone add-on. My question is I would like to turn on the heated seats when I remote start the truck is that possible? If so, how would I do that pretty confident in putting in the remote start and wiring it in I’ve done a bunch of them. The heated seats, however, is a little above my knowledge base. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Since it's a multiplexed system, the best method may be soldering small wires to the switch contacts and using a relay to jump the switch. You'll probably need to probe around with a meter to find what you need.

You can use the Compustar's rear defroster output to control this.

OK, I will give it a shot. Going to try to start working on it tomorrow super cold here right now and no garage so it’ll be a process that’s for sure. Thank you for your help.

So I’m hoping one of you guys can help I have a 2003 Dodge ram 2500 diesel. If it matters. it has a coumpustar CM 900 AS in it it used to have an old coumpustar . I just replaced it with the new CS 900 everything works Power locks lock unlock the doors remote starts. Everything‘s fine my question though is I also want to use the turbo timer and it’s saying I have to have the door trigger wire hooked up. Where would I find that and how would I go about hooking it up. Any help would be greatly appreciated

Connector 3, pin 16 (red/white) is listed as the Computer's negative door trigger input. If you're wanting to use this as an alarm as well, you should use diodes and connect all the door triggers to this wire. If you don't care about that and only want the functionality, just connect the driver's door trigger.

Yes, I saw that and definitely want to use it as a full alarm with all features. I grabbed some diode that were listed in the install directions from Amazon. Please forgive me for my ignorance. I know how to wire up a lot of stuff. Not really sure about diode. If I remember correctly they are Directional which direction do they go? Do I connect one to each of the door triggers And then connect them all together and send that wire to the coumpustar. Thanks again for all the help. I really appreciate it.

Diodes usually have a colored band on one end of the body. This is the negative side or cathode. This side will connect to the door side and the other side will connect to the alarm. Many multimeters have a diode testing function you can use to verify. You will get a reading with the leads connected if you have your negative lead connected to the banded side and positive lead connected to the other side. If you reverse the leads it should not give you a reading or display OL (outside limits). If your meter doesn't have a diode test, you can use the resistance setting.

Yes, you will bring them all together and connect them to the alarm input.

OK got all that working perfectly. Thank you so much for all of your help. Now I have another question is there a way to mimic the factory keyless entry and what I mean by that is when you hit the unlock button, it turns the down lights on and the cargo light and the parking lights on for however, many seconds that is, I’m not sure off the top of my head And if you close the door and hit the lock button, it overrides that built-in timer, and it turns the dome light off immediately?

I don't know what all those lights are but I bet you could use the dome light supervision feature to control a relay to do what you want.

You'll need access to an OP500 handheld programmer since you need to assign a POC to dome light supervision.
