Hey guys, I'm new to installing remote starts i just did my 04 camry got it working and all I also have a 06 ford explorer I'm planning on doing. Issue is it has low current power wires, question I have is if I end up using those little wires would I have to swap out the fuses that are in the socket(30 amp) of the wiring harness ? If so how would I know what to use? I'm using a cm900 brain with the high current harness. Tia

No, this is unnecessary and you can just leave them as is. If you use the constant power wire in the ignition harness to provide power to your fused wires, you are still using the same factory fuses as starting with the key. This may look funny but will not cause an electrical issue.

Alternatively, if you prefer, you can repin the harness with smaller wires and fuse for the size of replacement wire. Compustar doesn't use locking tangs on the female terminals in the remote start harness, but rather locking tabs in the plastic plug itself. These tabs lock in place behind the terminals where they curl down (if that makes sense) to the underside of the matching male tabs. If you look at the mating end of the plug with a flashlight you can see what I mean.

You can use a pick tool or a small screwdriver to pry down so you can remove the terminals out the back (if you even want). Be sure to take reference pictures and only do one at a time.

If you choose to go this route, you'll either need pre terminated wires of smaller size in addition to fuse holders and proper fuses; or you'll need female open barrel terminals with an open barrel crimper along with the needed fuse holders and fuses.

Yep I know what you mean so 30 amp fuses should be fine on a low current vehicle right ? I know compustar sells low current harnesses as well which would be used instead of the high current oen you send.
