I managed to install the remote starter, but now I'm just trying to figure out to stop the alarm from going off when I start the car.

If I remote start before unlocking the doors, the alarm goes off.

Do I just wire the arm/disarm wires from the remote starter to the same wires as lock/unlock, or do I have to do something else?

The other thing I was wondering about is how to program the trunk unlock button.

The connector with the trunk unlock wire is not included, instead this explanation is provided:

Connector 4 (CN4), 6-Pin Note: This harness is not included with CM7 wire harness kits. The Lock (POC2), Unlock (POC 3), Trunk release outputs have been moved to CN3 I/O harness and are programmable outputs. This connector will still be available for any Firstech lock harness. (FT-DM600 or FT-DM700)

I'm sorry for these noob questions, and I would really appreciate any advice!

You got it. Wire the lock and unlock outputs in harness CN3 to the appropriate wires in your car.

In the programming menus you'll notice there's an option to unlock before, lock after remote start. Default is off, you want this on.

I believe that'll take care of your factory alarm triggering on remote start.

You can reprogram the green/white wire in the remote start harness to trunk release. That'll give you a positive output. Another option would be to reprogram an output in CN3 to option 28, which is a negative trunk release.

Some of these options can only be changed with the handheld OP500 programmer. Sometimes you can find these on eBay for around $60. If you do, be sure it has the latest firmware so you'll have up to date menu options for programming.

If you don't plan to do many, you can pay a local Compustar dealer to make the menu changes for you.

Thanks a lot, appreciate the help!

I'll try to program this option, seems easy

For option 28, it seems to be part of the special option group, which can only be programmed with the programmer. It's only $150 CAD, so I think it will be worth it :)
