2017 Nissan Altima, Remote Start

So I’ve got a recently acquired 2017 Altima SV that I’m wanting to put a Viper remote start and SmartStart on. I’m wanting to DIY the install and at first was thinking it was going to be fairly easy. Mainly because I did my own install about 15 years ago on a diesel F250 and had to hard wire everything, but then saw where most everything now has t-harnesses that don’t require you to cut hardly anything at all. I figured with this being a relatively newish vehicle with a push button start it would fall in that category. But after trying to find a vehicle specific t-harness for a 2013-2018 Altima for a Viper remote start, it seems these vehicles are black holes when it comes to remote starts in general. I can find a decent number of kits with t-harnesses to add a remote start to work off of the factory key fob and do not come with with long range key fobs, but I already have a factory remote start and was just wanting the long range, 2-way remotes viper offers plus the SmartStart.

Anybody have any experience or insight on how to get a Viper remote start in here without having to manually wire everything?

Idatalink (idatalink.com) has bypass solutions available for this model that are not stuck behind the DEI paywall and a DIYer will be able to handle. You can go with an ADS-ALCA to handle not just the immobilizer but also door locks, factory alarm as well as other features. Just make sure you flash the DBI (Viper compatible) version of firmware if you use this on a Viper, not the native ADS version. You'll need a flashing cable (ADS-USB) as well an ADS-HRN DBI (serial cable to go from Idatalink module to Viper). You'll also need to create a free idatalink.com login in order to flash.

As a former Viper user myself, I switched to Compustar in the last few years. There are 2 way systems available that can also be controlled with an app (Drone mobile). I don't have experience with Drone, but have read that it works when it wants to (like Smart Start for me in the past).
