I purchased a Viper 4105V/DB3 combo, the DB3 came programmed for the '07 CRV. I got both modules wired per the DB3 wiring diagram, and only the door lock/unlock functions. The viper remote arms and disarms the factory alarm, flashes the P lights, and flashes the blue security LED on the Viper antenna, so I believe the DB3 has been flashed correctly, but the remote start does not respond.
The vehicle is a key start.

Just to note my skill level, I am a Mechanical Engineer, and have been building and restoring automobiles for over 40 yrs. I have built and reconstructed wiring harnesses.

To give some particulars on the installation: I got a detailed wiring diagram for the DB3 on the 2007 CRV, but nothing specific on the Viper 4105V. The DB3 diagram just shows a block for a remote start module with only 7 of the many wires connected to the car.
I made all the instructed DB3 connections, and the indicated connections on the 4105V module with the exception of the hood pin (waiting to test if needed, I believe there is a factory hood open signal). On power up the LED on the DB3 indicated successful programming.

Below is a summary of what I did and did not connect on the Viper 4105V module:
-Remote start harness, 5 pin white connector - I have none of these connected, in fact it is not even plugged in. Should any of these wires be connected?
Pin 1) Parking brake input - not connected, I don't think it's needed, car has an automatic transmission
Pin 2) Tachometer input - not connected, doesn't DB3 take care of this?
Pin 3) Brake shutdown input - not connected, not sure what this signal does
Pin 4) Hood pin shut down - not connected, waiting to see if needed, my other CRV has a factory hood open signal
Pin 5) Rear defogger output - not connected, but I would like the rear defogger to go on in the winter
-Main harness, 9 pin white connector
Pin 1) factory alarm disarm - not connected, but functioning with Viper remote
Pin 2) factory alarm disarm - not connected, but functioning with Viper remote
Pin 3) Ignition out to alarm - not connected is this needed, I don't have a Viper alarm?
Pin 4) Activation input - not connected, not sure where this would be connected to?
Pin 5) Anti-Grind - not connected, not sure where this would be connected to?
Pin 6) Horn output - not connected I think I need this, horn is not sounding when locking the doors
Pin 7) Trunk release - not connected, I don't have a trunk release
Pin 8) Chassis ground - connected, good connection to chassis
Pin 9) light flash output - connected, P lights flash on lock and unlock, I must have got the light flash polarity jumper in the correct position.
-Heavy gauge relay harness, 6 pin white - all pins connected
-Door lock harness, white 3 pin - did not use
-Satellite harness, white 4 pin - did not use
-D2D harness - all pins connected, viper module to DB3
Are any of the wires that I did not connect prohibiting the remote start from functioning?
Is there some programming to the 4105V module that I missed.
Any help would be much appreciated.

Here are some answers...
First caveat...   I am not a DB3 user and am unable to get any specific info on the capabilities of this module when it is flashed with the Honda4 firmware. The good news is I have used plenty of Viper 4105 units and even had a 2007 CR-V that I installed a basic R/S system into.

-Remote start harness, 5 pin white connector - I have none of these connected, in fact it is not even plugged in. Should any of these wires be connected?
Pin 1) Parking brake input - not connected, I don't think it's needed, car has an automatic transmission
This wire is actually called the Neutral Safety and needs to connected to supply a ground for the R/S to work.
You are correct that a vehicle with an Auto Trans you can just connect it to a good Chassis Ground point.
Pin 2) Tachometer input - not connected, doesn't DB3 take care of this?
As mentioned, I don't know the capabilities of the DB3 but most decent similar bypass module ( EVO-ALL and
ADS AL-CA ) do supply a Tach signal in this application.
Pin 3) Brake shutdown input - not connected, not sure what this signal does
This input signal has a few purposes. It is primarily used for "Key-take -over" and as a R/S shutdown.
The similar bypass module mentioned previously do not supply a Brake signal so it's very possible that you will have to hardwire this signal, info below :
Brake Detection    LIGHT GREEN    (+) AT SWITCH ABOVE BRAKE PEDAL
You can test this by doing a R/S and then depress the Brake pedal - engine should shutdown.
Pin 4) Hood pin shut down - not connected, waiting to see if needed, my other CRV has a factory hood open signal
The DB3 might supply this signal. Easy to test, just R/S engine and pop hood.   This is an important safety
feature. Install the 4105 kit supplied Hood Pin if necessary.
Pin 5) Rear defogger output - not connected, but I would like the rear defogger to go on in the winter
Another wire with a couple of uses.
You will have to program the Viper Menu 2, Feature 8 to Option 2
Rear Defrost    BROWN    (-) LINK CONN. ABOVE GAS PEDAL
   Not needed.
Pin 4) Activation input - not connected, not sure where this would be connected to?
Not needed. Could be used for test purposes.
Pin 5) Anti-Grind - not connected, not sure where this would be connected to?
If you added a relay on the vehicles' Starter wire, you could use this signal to prevent the driver from engaging the starter during key take over.
Pin 6) Horn output - not connected I think I need this, horn is not sounding when locking the doors
Optional but nice to have. Here is the vehicle info :
Horn Honk    ORANGE    (-) IGNITION SWITCH HARNESS
Viper programming   Menu 1 Feature 1 Option 2
Pin 7) Trunk release - not connected, I don't have a trunk release
Pin 8) Chassis ground - connected, good connection to chassis
Pin 9) light flash output - connected, P lights flash on lock and unlock, I must have got the light flash polarity jumper in the correct position.
-Heavy gauge relay harness, 6 pin white - all pins connected
Heavy gauge 6 Pin
1 RED (+) (30A) HIGH CURRENT 12V INPUT        White
2 PINK/WHITE (+) PROGRAMMABLE OUTPUT      Optional - Red set to ACC2 Menu 2 Feature 2 Opt 2
3 RED (+) (30A) HIGH CURRENT 12 INPUT           White
4 ORANGE (+) (30 AMP) OUTPUT TO ACCESSORY             Orange
5 PURPLE (+) (30 AMP) OUTPUT TO STARTER    Yellow
6 PINK (+) (30 AMP) OUTPUT TO IGNITION CIRCUIT            Blue

-Door lock harness, white 3 pin - did not use
-Satellite harness, white 4 pin - did not use
-D2D harness - all pins connected, viper module to DB3
Are any of the wires that I did not connect prohibiting the remote start from functioning?
Yes. Neutral Safety to Chassis Ground.
Is there some programming to the 4105V module that I missed.
I don't like Virtual Tach. Assuming the DB3 supplies a Tach Signal...
Set Viper to Tach Mode ( Menu 2 Feature 1 Option 4 ) and do a Tach Learn.

Good luck.
Cheers
