I was thinking of purchasing and insalling  a crime stopper cs2011 alarm system. does anyone know if these systems are any good? I will be putting it in a 2002 mercury mountaineer. this truck has the coded key. does putting a remote start in this type of vehicle make it easier to steal. Also how difficult is this type of system to install. I have done plenty of car stereo installs and 1 viper alarm install no (remote start). If the crime stopper is not recommended what model and brand would you suggest? trying to stay cost effective. thanks in advance Chjris...

RS's are about 5 more wires than alarm systems for the main wire hook ups. You will need a universal bypass module for the Mountaineer and this will not make the vehicle any easier to install. Just make sure you hide the module well under the dash. What is your price range as far as RS/alarm systems go ?

I've heard good and bad things about the CS systems. If you are comfortable trying to install this yourself, then go for it, but the system is limited to the extra channels ( eg, only one AUX channel )
