Hi, I have a 530T window module that I would like to interface with my factory alarm system in a 98 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Thanks to some previous advice in this forum, I know how to properly connect the window motors to the module. However, I am still unsure which wire in the factory system would provide me with a "negative armed output" so that the windows will automatically close when the factory system is armed. Thanks to the 12vlots's wiring guide, I was able to find the factory wiring here: https://www.the12volt.com/installbay/detail.asp?info=alarm&year=1998&make=Jeep&model=Grand%20Cherokee&ID=18149&type=Alarm , but I still do not know which wire would provide the "negative armed output" Can anyone help me from looking at that link? Also, I need to know what type of window system it is. Does: 1. The polarity of the system NEVER change when the ignition key is turned on. 2. The polarity of the system CHANGE when the ignition key is turned on.
Thanks, David

Same thing I'm going through. I need to know which wire it needs to go to on my RS3. I CAN use my smartwindows II module. What channel do I use-2 or 4? What wires are going to be used for the constant ground/siren output so it may roll up upon arming? Constant/latched/pulsed? And I have a sunroof too. It works now on the 700IQ that I have. Just need to know what wires are going where on the RS3. Help please. Thank you !

The GWA wire is orange on DEI alarms and many other brands. It is the wire that exits from the alarm brain, and connects to terminal 85 of the starter kill relay.
When the starter kill relay is properly installed, the orange wire will rest as a weak ground whenever the car engine is off....whether the alarm is armed or not. But you can fix this with a diode.
Cut the GWA wire in half and place a diode inline...then test out the starter kill...if the kill still works, you've put the diode the right way.
Connect your window wire's module to the orange wire, but it must be on the side of the diode that's closest to the the alarm brain.

to be honest with you im not sure that the factory system comes with a negative armed output. The window module unit is intended to be interfaced with an aftermarket alarm that provides the negative armed out, it is not meant to be used with the factory security system. As stated above, the - armed out is an orange wire, and for finding it with the RS3, look for your starter kill relay, you will certainly find it there
