2002 Dodge Ram 1500
554t with remote start
I just finished a very long install on this vehicle. Everything works fine but I have one problem. The check engine light came on after starting the car with the remote start feature. I figured the cause was the intake plenemum(sp) I removed to gain access to the spark plug harness. I removed the negative battery cable and let the car sit for 10 min. After reconnecting the battery and starting the truck with the key the light was out. I though I had solved the problem. I started the truck again with the remote start and the CE light came on again. The truck runs fine. I picked up the Tach signal at the number 1 cyl plug harness. I did not use the wire that DEI said to stay away from. I checked the AC voltage on the wire before connecting. I doubt this is the problem. When the truck is started with remote start the SRS and Anti Loc lights are on the dash. I think that I need to feed power to another wire in the ign harness. Is it possible to power all other wires that normally have 12 v while running? Has anyone had the same problem? Thanks for the time.

What ignition and accessory wires did you hook up? You need to use the following:
ignition 1 - blue
ignition 2 - red or RED / white
acc 1 - green
acc 2 - orange
Missing any of those wires will cause those lights to go on. Also, make sure acc wires are hooked up as acc wires, and ign wires are hooked up as ignition wires. On some vehicles hooking up an acc wire as an ignition wire can cause a CE light or other problem.
I used the 16 guage blue wire for ign and the green for the acc.
I assume that I should splice off the orange wire from the remote start relay bank and use that for the acc 2. I will connect the pink/white to the other ign line. Thanks for the help. It would have been nice to know this before I made everything nice and neat. Thanks again.
