I have my keyless locks installed and everything, but it will only lock with the remote. I found that if i put the "lock" wire coming out of the actuator on a ground, it will unlock. By doing this I have to remove the wire from the harness coming out of the sensor module. Does anyone know how I would wire relays to accomplish this without having to manualy ground the wire to unlock this?

i don't know what kind of vehicle or alarm you have, but what you can is install a relay for the unlock. the pulse for the unlock would trip the relay to provide a ground to your "lock" wire. i need some more info to provide you with more details.

I figured I needed a relay but I can't figure out how to wire it to do that. I tried to do it myself, but it didn't work right. How would I run the wires to accomplish what you're saying?

Does each lock and unlock wire coming from the keyless module output a (-) signal when you lock and unlock with the remote control ?

scelsi14, can you provide us with more details about the vehicle or alarm make/model that you are using? we need to know if you are using aftermarket actuators or if your vehicle is equipped with factory doorlocks.

Oh, sorry, I forgot to mention that. I have an aftermarket keyless lock set. My car is a 91 Pontiac Sunbird. Here's a link to link where I got the lock set. Thanks for any help.

Velocity Motors, what equipment would I need to see if it is a (-) signal? I have a multimeter, but it appears that will not show me such a signal.

You need to set your DMM to DC and place the RED lead to a constant 12 volt source and the BLACK lead to the target wire. Now press the lock or unlock button on the remote control and the corresponding wire will make the DMM jump up to 12 volts momentarily and back down to 0. Both wires should do this when you press the lock/unlock button.

judging from the link you've posted, if everything is hooked up to the module, you locks and remotes should work properly. double check you wiring. without the actual diagram, i'm just guessing on what's wrong.

Ok, when I did what Velocity Motors said, I had a 12V until i pushed the button, then it went back to 0. What does this tell me? Except when I push the lock button with the lead on the black wire it only goes down to 10 volts, but lock is the one that is working for me. Do I need the unlock wire to stay that hot?

That was the unlock wire and unlock button that went back to 0. Sorry about that

What diagram would be beneficial chuck? Like what the wires on the module are connected to?

Seeing that your KE unit sends out a (-) pulse for trigger, then it's working properly for the unlock . The LOCK on the other hand has to also go to 0 volts in order for it to work properly. Ther eis the problem. The output on the LOCK wire is not grounding like it's supposed to. Chances are the KE unit's lock output is defective.

Is there any way that I can fix that? Or possibly do something to bypass the faulty ground?

What would I be looking for on the module itself? Can i use relays to get around the bad ground?

If the lock output does not drop down to 0 volts ( only 10 volts ), there really is no way around it. Just take the KE unit back for warranty to the place you got it from ( if possible ).
