I have a clifford solaris installed in a 1996 jeep grand cherokee. the alarm worked fine after install. the next day I couldn't deactivate with the remote. It wouldn't respond to any of the remotes I had programmed. I had to get in and do it through the valet switch. I hooked it up to the Cliffnet Wizard Pro, Software and reprogrammed the remotes and it accepted them. remote started the jeep a couple of times with no problems. parked it for about 3hrs. tried to remote start it. no luck. Same thing again, it seems to be forgeting that it has remotes. Now it won't accept any remote control programming. through the valet switch or the data link. Please don't tell me the brain is fried.

I have had that problem with a lot of the older generation clifford alarms, even on my own vehicle, at first I thought maybe the remotes or the brain had dropped the codes, so I tried to reprogram them using the cliffnet wizard, but that didn't work,  finally got someone at Clifford to give me the solution: the solution is simple: buy a new antenna, for some reason I don't know why but on both my own and a customers vehicle we exchanged out the antenna and cleared out the remotes with the cliffnet wizard and reprogrammed them back in and has been working fine ever since.

I agree. They have had in the past problems with qc when dealing with their antenna's. I don't know how they deal with their antenna's now that DEI owns them. I refuse to deal with DEI or any of their lines.

hey ezridr thanks for the info, I switched with another clifford antenna from an avantguard IV I'm supposed to install for someone else, and it worked great.  Anyway you are not going to believe this, the damn thing won't start through the alarm. It starts fine with the key, but when remote started, it tries to start, then shuts off. started it with cliffnet wizard, it ran for about 2 minutes then shut itself off. the brain is shutting the ignition off. I don't think this one likes me. I'm getting a headache, and I don't get headaches.
