Hey guys,

Ok here's the situation, my friend's alarm has an accessory wire that send a negative pulse when the car is armed.  So since the window module is activated when it detects a negative pulse, the module would activate with the quick pulse.  Ok, well my alarm on the other hand, does not have an accessory wire for the arming.  It DOES have a "ground when armed" signal though... and I figured I could just use that.  The thing is, instead of sending a "pulse", it will be grounded for as long as the car is armed.  So my question is, will it matter if it's grounded for that prolonged amount of time, even though it only requires a quick pulse?  I assume that the modules themselves stop the motors once the windows reach the top.  But what happens if the activating wire is grounded for a long time?

As long as you have window modules ( aftermarket kind , not home made ones ), the power output is cut off after it detects a voltage spike in the window. No worries if it's a constant or pulsed.

got another question..

is the module supposed to detect that the window is rolled up already, or does it detect the instance that it gets to the peak then shuts off?  In other words.. if my windows were ALREADY rolled up, would the module know not to continue trying since it's already at the peak point.

I assume the module would know because it still needs to draw more power than it would without it... but I just want to confirm.
