You will need to look into getting a  bypass module  im not sure about the 2001  but the 2000 model has a transponder in the key, you will need to bypass that for the remote start to work .   You can also use a spare key if you have one already that can be interfaced to make work.posted_image

if you put the keys in the ignition and you try to remote start and all goes well then you have a immobilizer which will have to be bypassedposted_image

There are two bypass systems out on the market, KEYLESS and KEYED . The obvious choice for security reasons is the KEYLESS version. They are more expensive, but you do not run the risk of a thief finding the key. There is a WHITE/ BLUE wire on the P9 harness that activated the bypass module only when the remote starter option is engaged. The bypass for the KEYLESS versions have 5 wires to install and that's it.

The starter does work with the key in the 1st position of the ignition but not without.  I'm sure there is no chip in the key itself, but rather something in the ignition that detects the key inserted.  I'm guessing this is what would have to be bypassed for the remote start to work.  On the alarm is an optional (-) wire which I could attach to this to bypass it if it were to work so.  All the previous replys are greatly appreciated, but I'm still left in the dark.  I would like specific instructions on where to find such a wire (color also).  If this is not the case, what are your opinions.

A chip is in the key .

when the ignition is turned on the chip gets powered up and sends a signal back to ariel and then that signal is sent to the module that verifies its the correct chip (key) if it is bingo you can start the car !

simple

when your sure your remote start is properly conected you can go get your module .I posted earlier to try and put the key in the ignition then remote start .I believe you said that did not work,,well it should have that means that something is wrong in your remote start connectons. When you have the original key in the ignition turned on then you try to remote start if the remote starter starts the car then you are ready to get your module to bypass the key. If it does not start you will first have to check all your remote start conections and fix whats wrong, then you will get your bypass unit and follow the directions that come with it.posted_image

The 2001 Accord DOES have a transponder bypass chip mounted in the head of the key. You will need a bypass module to properly bypass this system from Honda for the remote start function to work on the Aladdina-2000.
