i found out that my trunk needs a positive pulse to trigger it to open.  my alarm sends a negative output pulse when u press the trunk button on the transmitter.  is this why my transmitter wont open my trunk?

you need a relay to output the large amount of current to the trunk pop.
relay wire:
alarm(-) to 85
constant power to 86&30
the trunk 87

Yes, use a relay to send a swictched postive to the trunk release

Wiring as follows

- output from alarm to pin 85 on relay
+ 12V fused to pin 86 and 30 on relay
+ 12V for trunk release to pin 87 on relay

just make sure that the fuse is big enough, most likley 10amp will do.

because you will notice that all 3 replys were within a very short time of each other and the 2 slower posters didn't see the 1st reply
