ive seen one of those new mercedes cars with the card thing instead of a key. all you need is to have the card in your pocket and when you get close to your locked car it automatically unlocks it for you and when it detects the card being inside the car you have a push button start. when you stop, and get out of the car and walk away, it automatically locks the doors for you when the card (in your pocket) is no longer nearby. i havent seen it on any other vehicles except one of the new mercedes. i was just wondering if this would be a possibility for any other car as an aftermarket custom thing. i understand that i would have to purchase the stock sensor and cards and all that crap from a dealer probably, but is it possible? do you think it would be worth trying? tell me what you think! thanks

I have heard of the Mercedes system and I have seen the card style Immobilizer systems that have the same affect where you walk away and the vehicle's ignition is Immobilized and when you get near it the system re-engages. You can hook this up to the door lock system as well with some custom wiring.

What happens when you forget the card/device somewhere. Can they sew it into you or something?

i guess it would be the same as having those shaved or whatever door handles with a keyless entry system and losing the remote. sucks.
