Hi, I have an Accord 88 LX. I found the horn wire (-) at the steering column. When I cutted it in half, pressing the horn will not work, so I must have found the right wire. The problem is that when I  connect this wire to the Audiovox ASP or APS 785 horn output (-), there is no sound coming from the horn. I did the setup to change to horn and siren, so that's not a problem there. My question is that do I need a relay for the horn to work? I thought both wires are (-) negative? Please shed some lights on this topic for me.

The alarm output is most likely low current, if your horn requires high current to set it off then you'll need a relay.  If there is already a horn relay in your car you can hook up the alarm out put to that relay.

BTW, according to the vehicle database on this site your negative horn wire is blue/red and is located in the steering column.

TEST THE HORN IF IT WORKS WITH THE CAR OFF THAT THIS CAN BE DONE EASIELY IF THE HORN WILL NOT HUNK WHEN THE KEY IS OFF THAN YOU HAVE TO RUN A RELAY OFF OF THAT WIRE FROM ALARM AND CONNECT IT TO THE POSSITIVE SIDE OF THE HORN IT SHOULD NOT NEED A FLASHER BEING THAT THE NEGATIVE FROM AUDIOVOX ALARM HAS ONE BUILT IN BUT IF THE HORN JUST STAYS CONSTANT THAN YOU NEED ONE

RELAY SETUP.

PIN 85 NEGATIVE WIRE FROM ALARM.
PIN 86 AND 87 CONSTANT 12 VOLTS FUSED
PIN 30 OUTPUT TO THE POS SIDE OF HORN. GOT EITHER AFTER THE FACTORY HORN HONK RELAY OR AT THE HORN ITSELF.

IF YOU NEED A FLASHER THAN GET A TWO POLL FLASHER FROM AUTOZONE OR SOMETHIGN AND CONNECT THE RELAY THE SAME WAY INSTEAD CONNECT PIN 30 TO ONE POLL OF FLASHER AND THE OTHER POLL OF FLASHER TO THE POS HORN WIRE.

mecp certification is not always needed. I have it and it has not helped me out at all. my experience out shines it.

since the horn wire you found is a - pulse, this is a quick way to test it, put one end of the wire on the wire, one on a direct ground, if it honks u have the right wire and u need a relay on the alarm output, if it doesnt honk u have the wrong wire.
