Subject: Why won’t my trunk popper work?

I have a Viper v550 alarm and a 2003 Mitsu Eclipse, and I did some rewiring for a neons project and rewired everything to a new location in my dash for a better-looking install. But when I tried hooking up my aux (-) channel from the remote (it's on channel 3, fyi) I can't get the popper to work. This is how it's hooked up:

87: fused +12v
30: output to popper
85: ground
86: fused +12v

since the output from the alarm on the aux channel is negative, this is certainly the way to hook it up. That's not the problem. The problem is, I'm not reading voltage from the alarm aux wire when the AUX button is pressed. Did I perhaps disable the aux channel by accident? This is really frusterating!

fyi- I touched the wire that goes to the popper to the +12v wire, and it pops, but when I hook everything up in the relay.. nothin. HELP!

i think you meant the 85 to be your input of your aux wire (-) instead of ground. the aux wire is to be press down for couple of seconds, then test.

yeah, that's what I meant. And I know it has to be pressed for a few seconds. No matter what I do, I can't get a signal from the alarm! what's the deal?

Check to make sure that the button you're pressing is programmed to trigger that wire.  Maybe even try programming it again just to make sure.

which wire did you use the RED / white(channel2AUX) on harness 1 or violet/black(channel4) on harness 2

the channel 3 is remote start not aux.

I know it's hooked up to the right wire.. it's the same hookup as it was before, I just relocated everything...

how do I reprogram it? I don't have a bitwriter or anything. Can I use the valet to program it? How do I get the AUX channel programmed in?

and I may have typed the model number wrong. I don't have remote start w/ it, but I know it's the 500 series.

if you are using channel 3 then you must be pressin lock and unlock at the same time. then the wire should be blue/white. aux is just aux button. then the wire be WHITE/ red.
i dont think there is a disable for that channel. that channel is set to validity at default if the unit somehow resets or whatever.
if you think that channel doesnt work for some reasons then use the other channel.
correct me if am wrong.
am referring to viper 500

Channel 4 would be the best bet on poppers because when you press channel 4 there is no wait as there is on channel 2.

Oh well if you have the two button remote that would explain that.
