Recently installed Avital alarm into 99 Ranger extend cab, 4 door.  Also installed actuators and all appropriate relays etc.  Everything works fine and as expected but the alarm will go off after being armed for about 1 hour.  This occurs regardless of the shock sensor setting.

I'm guessing there has to be some sort of voltage drop or something.  Someone told me to put a 10K resistor in series with the dome light and that is should fix the problem.

Anyone else experienced this problem with rangers or is the brain maybe a junker?

Thanks

Most Ford vehicles have a GEM module sends a pulse to the door pins every 15 to 20 minutes and checks if the doors are closed or not. This will trigger your alarm system to false alarm. Here is a diagram will isolated the door pin trigger. This diagram will work with all newer Ford vehicles start from 99 and up.
