It's me again, still having trouble with this Valet 552T install. Atleast I'm down to the final part though.

I just purchased the 555H module. I have a '00 Odyssey by the way. I connected the synch, data, and key sense wires to 2 green harness' in back of the ignition switch. Wire colors I connected them to are (on the 6pin harnese) synch-ORANGE / blue, data-blue/green , and key sense-blue/white on the other 4-5pin harness. Can anyone verify that I'm in the right direction here?

There's also this blue wire they say to connect to the blue status wire on the remote start. I don't know which wire to use so I just connected it to ground since they said it must be ground during remote start. Is that okay?

I stuck the key in, remote started the engine, waited a couple of minutes for the LED on the module to blink but it didn't blink at all indicating that it was programmed.

Any ideas? Thanks for your help.

Your wiring looks correct and you have to makesure that you are using the BLACK headed key to programm the 555U. Also, make sure that you use the GROUND OUT WHEN RUNNING wire for the BLUE status wire.

Lucky you catback...the less fortunate have to fork out another $40 for the module.

Forgot to add...I just checked all the wire connectios I made earlier and they all matched up with what the instructions said to do. I believe I found the status output wire on the remote start. So I wired that wire up.

Now how long does it take for the module to learn the code from the key? I remote started the car with the key in the ignition and waited and waited for a good 5min. The LED on the module still didn't blinked the neccessary sequences.

I am stumped...can anyone give me some tips before I pack up shop and take it to someone? Thanks.

mx6boii - I'm also installing dei 555h on my 2000 honda odyssey. Mine is wired up the same as yours. Programming- The led comes on and goes off like it learned the key. When I try to remote start without the key though, it just sits there cranking. I'm not sure what the deal is. Let me know if you figue this out. BTW, I have heard negative comments about this particualr bypass model.

I have a avistart 6500 and the blue wire from the transponder is wired to the gray/black on the alarm. ANyone know if this is correct????

After trying to learn the key a few more times, it finally worked! Not sure what was special about that particular time, but oh well.

It appeared it was learning the key everytime I tried (led would come on and then go off), but when I would attempt to remote start, the engine would just sit there continually cranking. All is well now though, and I'm very happy with my avital 6500. Seems like a nice alarm. I appreciate the help this forum has provided me.

Hey shawnt so what did you do to make it learn the key code? I've been remote starting the car ever since last Thursday and it still hasn't learned it yet. Like you, it's just been cranking until I shut it off. I've checked the wiring like 5 times and let the car run for 5min waiting for the light to come on.

Yes mine blinks twice when remote starting it and then it doesn't blink the sequence mentioned in the booklet. How long did you have to wait before the LED lite up?

This is driving me crazy...about to take it to someone to have it checked out.

Days instaling this remote start:15 and counting...

Great news everyone (if anyone is still paying attention to this thread, hehe)! While reading shawnt's post yesturday I decided to give it another try today. At first I stuck in my key and started the car. Then shut if off and started it by remote. Still doesn't start... Then I got an idea out of no where...I used my dad's key and it worked!!! posted_image

I was so surprised that I had to remote start it two times to believe that I'm finally done. I wonder what was wrong with my key? My key is also a master too, huh...

I was so dissapointed that under the instructions it says that the module would blink out a certain sequence on the LED once the code is learned. Well it didn't blink at all.

Once again, thanks for everyones help during my *2 weeks* of installing this alarm. I love this site posted_image

Congrats!!! I know that feeling of joy when it finally works. I had to start mine a couple of times as well before I actually beleived it was working.

I think these dei modules are a little flaky on the learning side. I guess once the code is successfully programmed into the chip, your in good shape.

One question I do have: Will I have to relearn the key if the battery is disconnected? My instructions didn't say anything about that. Just curious cause I really don't want to go through the learning process again.

mx6boii - What brand/model of alarm do you have?

I agree with you...I wouldn't want to have to program this sucker again. I mean, it was fun installing everything, but getting it to work was mind boggling. None-the-less I acquired knowledge and hands on experience on installing the system and the device.

I'm actually running the Valet 552T. I got ripped off on Ebay. Bought it for $75, said it was new. Once I got it the main harness was used and cut up, the unit and remotes showed scuff marks, and the antenna, remote start ribbon, and door lock harness was missing. It took me 2months to track those parts down. I totalled up everything and sad to say I could've bought a new one.

I'm not 100% sure on this... after programming the bypass module I proceeded to bundle up the wires and hide the units beneath the dash. In order for me to do that I had to extend the ground cable. So I cut it, therefore interrupting power to all the units. When finished the first thing I did was test the remote start. Well...it actually started. Hope this helps.
