What would happen if my remote for my alarm happens to run out of batteries or break in some way, what would happen with my starter kill, that sets off when the alarm goes off and wont deactivate until the alarm is disarmed, will i be stranded without my car until i can get my second remote from my house, or what can i do if something like this was to happen? thanks in advance

My CodeAlarm has an emergency disarm (in case I lose the remote or it's battery dies) procedure listed on the last page of the owners manual. I'm assuming all decent alarms have this...

As long as y ou dont have shaved door handles and your alarm has an emergency disarm, you should be ok.

Most all alarms that sophisticated have a override/valet switch that you can use in case of remote failure. Even the shaven door has a hidden push button to use in case of remote failure, assuming it was professionally installed. The real problem would be shaven door handles with dead battery, can only pray the installer thought of this scenerio during installation, one would hate to break a perfectly good window.

Actually on the case of dead battery and shaved door handles. There is place near the emergency button if you lose your remote that allows you to plub jumper cables too so someone can give it a jolt for you to open your door to pop your hood.
